Living books – Online!

On May 28th 2020,

Community Perspective in Mental Health, in collaboration with the West Island Citizens Group, are proud to present a virtual living books event via Zoom, while we are together apart at home!

In connection with Mental Health Week (May 4-10) and Mental Health Awareness Month throughout the month of May, we will help to raise awareness on mental health issues, which are a big concern for many at this time, and to help break the stigma around mental illness.

We will begin with a presentation of the great ‘Living Books’ mental health documentary, on Zoom & Facebook, followed by a discussion period with film participants & director. Then our living books participants will be available live on the spot to be read and to find out more about them, either 1 on 1 or in small groups, in separate breakout rooms. They will share with you their personal experience having lived with mental illness and their inspirational stories of hope in recovery, and will also take your questions. Readers (attendees) will have the opportunity to read/hear a few different living books.

For more info on the Living Book film, and what a ‘living book’ and the ‘breakout room’ means, please see the FAQs.
NB: Please login to Zoom at 1:45 to ensure your place in the Zoom room (limited to the first 100) and in case of any technical issues or assistance needed.
